Cape.Reinga

Photograph of the small lighthouse at Cape Reinga. In books, people often name Cape Reinga the most northern part of New Zealand. Geographically Otou (North Cape) is the most Northern part of New Zealand. Otou is 3 kilometers more to the North.

From Cape Reinga, you can see the separation between the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean. You can also see the for Maori people sacred 800-year-old pohutukawa tree. The Maori call this tree as sacred because they believe spirits of the dead travel from this point to the afterlife.
